Lauder Primary School is in small rural town in the Beautiful Scottish Borders. Parents from the School started gardening with the children 2 years ago and we have gone from 2 raised beds and a quiet garden to 5 raised beds a quite garden and access to wooded area surrounding the school, Lucky’s Wood.
Last year was very successful we moved the garden forward with more focus on organic, sustainable and wildlife friendly gardening. We are still growing strong and this year we have taken part in the RSPBs Big School Birdwatch and will be doing the Big British Bee Count and taking part in Wild about Gardens Week.
We are also following the Royal Horticultural Society’s Campaign for School Gardening and have been awarded Level 3 of their School Gardening Awards.
